Please join us for our Fall Volunteer event!  Our event with Sheridan Story was such a success last year that we have decided to coordinate another group volunteer opportunity in place of a fall conference.  This year’s organization is Free Bikes 4 Kidz. MN NAPNAP has planned to work with FB4K cleaning and prepping bikes to get them ready for dispersal into the community.

About FB4K:

Free Bikes 4 Kidz is a non-profit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. The public donates gently used bikes, they organize thousands of volunteers to clean and refurbish them, and then they give them away to kids in need.  October 6, the organization has a huge collection drive with Allina Health and last year acquired over 10,000 bikes. They then need volunteers to clean and do minor repairs on the bikes before they distribute them to the community. Volunteers are split into three groups with increasing levels of bike maintenance experience required, with Cleaners needing no prior bike maintenance experience, Preppers having experience changing tires and tubes, and Mechanics with the most experience required.

PAST EVENT

The Fall gathering and Service Project for 2017 has passed.

Thanks to all who came!  Read about this event below and be sure to check out the photos of the event as well!

In the Fall of 2017 we have decided to take the opportunity to give back to the underserved pediatric community by packing food through an organization called The Sheridan Story.  This non-profit won the MN NAPNAP Award for Organization of the Year in 2017. The Sheridan Story is a non-profit organization focused on fighting child hunger throughout Minnesota.  Their main focus is addressing the weekend food gap, providing sustenance for children on the free and reduced meal programs who may not otherwise have access to food over the weekend.

Following the service event, we gathered at Granite City Restaurant in Roseville to socialize. MN NAPNAP provided appetizers and pizzas.
